Massanutten

Out of all the places I've been in the past few years Massanutten definitely was one of the most enjoyable. Massanutten is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Although its known more as a ski resort, it's a great place to visit in the summer and year round as well. Between the majestic mountains and various ponds throughout Massanutten, the landscape is just breathtaking.

Besides all of the natural beauty in Massanutten there is plenty to do. You can go fishing in the several ponds located throughout Massanutten resort. The ponds are stocked with fish throughout the year. If you like to golf there are several golf courses located on the resort that you can play. and test you skills. There is an 9 hole executive course which is geared towards novice golfers and there is an 18 hole course that is geared towards more experienced players. Also if your not a golfer or fisherman there's still plenty to do. You can play mini-golf and race go-karts.

If you visit during the summer obviously there isn't gonna be any snow, instead you can go mountain-boarding and mountain tubing.  Mountain-boarding can be fun , but can be pretty dangerous if in experience. Mountain Tubing is probably less exciting than mountain-boarding, but it can be a lot of fun especially if you have any kids. Massanutten has a large indoor/ outdoor water park. It has a pipeline wave ride, several tube slides, and lots of other rides. During the summer it can be a great place to cool off. 

Hiking is also another option. The views you'll see while hiking are just incredible. Although there is quite a bit to do in Massanutten the great thing about it is that it's just a great place to relax. It has a calming atmosphere that makes it an ideal place for a vacation escape. All in all its a hidden gem in the Blue Ridge Mountains and definitely worth visiting.
